Dr. Jerod Work, Pharm.D. - Chief Nerd

Dr. Jerod Work is a doctor of pharmacy with a diverse background in the life sciences, including microbiology, chemistry and pharmacology. He is a recognized expert in gut health, probiotics and the humanmicrobiome, earning him the title of “Bug Doc” from others in the field. Jerod practiced in the community pharmacy sector for more than a decade beforefocusing on research into probiotics and microbiota as an alternative to standard pharmacological treatments for gut health issues.

Along with his medical and science foundations, Jerod holds a degree in Business Administration, with emphases on management and marketing. Outside of building Uprêvma, Jerod enjoys his family’s activities, traveling, biking, hiking, and coaching youth sports. Jerod is also honored to serve as Vice President for his local School Board, District Director for the State Association of School Boards, and Member of the local Hospital Board.

Sheri Work, CPA (Inactive Registrant) - Chief of Finance

With more than 13 years of experience, Sheri Work manages the financials for Uprêvma Health. She holds a bachelor’s in Accounting and Business Administration, along with an inactive CPA license. As CFO of Family Crisis Centers, she manages a variety of fiscal and accounting functions and is responsible for the agency’s annual operational budget.

Prior to her work at FCC, Sheri worked as an auditor for privately held companies in the health care and not-for-profit industries. She’s a leader with an analytical approach to problem solving, and is efficient in providing the best decision-making information and data.

Outside of her busy career, Sheri enjoys timespent with family, traveling, exercising, hiking, and healthy cooking.

Zac Lewis, Ph.D.

Dr. Lewis is an industry scientist with 15 years of microbiome experience. He has developed dozens of probiotic products, including formulas which are on the shelves of every major retailer and consumed by millions of consumers around the world. He holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of California, Davis, and has expertise in DNA-based methods for evaluating gut microbial communities, dietary supplement regulations, and communicating science to non-experts.

Dr. Robert Silverman, DC, DACBN, DCBCN, MS, CCN, CNS, CSCS, CIISN, CKTP, CES, HKC

Dr. Robert G. Silverman is a chiropractic doctor, clinical nutritionist, international speaker, and author of "Inside-Out Health: A Revolutionary Approach to Your Body," an Amazon Number 1 bestseller in 2016. The ACA Sports Council named Dr. Silverman “Sports Chiropractor of the Year” in 2015. His extensive list of educational accomplishments includes six different degrees in clinical nutrition. Dr. Silverman also maintains a busy private practice as founder of Westchester Integrative Health Center, which specializes in the treatment of joint pain unsing functional nutrition along with cutting edge, science-based, nonsurgical approaches.

Dr. Silverman is on the advisory board for the Functional Medicine University and is a seasoned health and wellness expert on both the speaking circuits and within the media, as well as a frequent health expert contributor on national blogs such as Consumer Health Digest. He has appeared on FOX News Channel, FOX, NBC, CBS, CW affiliates as well as The Wall Street Journal and NewsMax, to name a few.

As a frequent published author in peer-reviewed journals and other mainstream publications, Dr. Silverman is a thought leader in his field and practice. His new book, “Superhighway to Health,” will be published in 2022.

The Sparrows

A close friend of the Work family was a prominent artisan and wildlife painter. In every painting, he placed a number of small sparrows somewhere on the canvas. These represented all the less visible people who played a part in his studio, but never got the main spotlight. Each little bird added something small but vital to the overall composition of the artwork, literally and figuratively. As a boy, it was customary for Jerod and his dad to search together to find all the hidden helpful sparrows.

In homage to this tradition with Jerod’s family friend and late father, and in gratitude to our backstage gems, if you look carefully, you will find images of sparrows sprinkled throughout our website, packaging, and literature.
